Dear teachers and students,
Good morning. I'm Nico from Grade 8A, MYP Department. And this is Annabella from Grade 6. It's a great honor for us to share with you here. Today's theme is "how to make your plan for the new semester ". Important points are 1. Self reflection; 2. Setting learning objectives; 3. Time management.
In order to support our learning and personal development, it’s important to analyze your own learning style first. Everyone's learning style can be different: some students have strong memory, and what they have learned is not easy to forget; some students have good comprehension, and can master what the teacher explains by only being told once; some students think fast but often make mistakes; some students tend to think over but are careful. Taking mathematics as an example, some students have strong comprehension and solve problems very fast; some students are good at verbal arithmetic, and they can calculate quickly and accurately; Some students have rich imagination and are good at finding patterns in the transformation of graphics, so geometry learning is not difficult at all. Therefore, considering your own learning status, analyze comprehensively and match appropriate learning methods, we believe that the learning effect will be multiplied with half the effort.
Secondly, we should determine our own learning objectives. A positive learning goal can inspire people to forge ahead, so as to produce the power to strive for the realization of this goal. Learning objectives should have appropriate, clear and specific characteristics: appropriate means that the objectives can not be set too high or too low. If they are too high, they can not be achieved eventually, you will end up losing confidence; if it is too low and can be achieved without effort, which is not conducive to progress. Putting forward the goals that can be achieved through efforts according to your actual status is recommended. Being clear means that the learning objectives should be easy to check. Being specific means that the goals should be available to achieve.
Finally, we should manage time scientifically. Time arrangement shall meet the requirements of "comprehensive, reasonable and efficient". Being comprehensive means that when arranging time, we should consider not only learning school curricula, but also extracurricular learning based on interests and talents. Time allocation between different disciplines should also be considered. It’s important to find out when the best time is for you to study during a day reasonably. And being efficient means that you should arrange your time according to the priorities.
We hope you can work out your own learning plan at the beginning of the new semester and make continuous efforts to forge ahead. We wish everyone can have strength, courage and perseverance of the Tiger and surpass yourselves!
That’s all for our speech today. Thanks for listening.
