INTRODUCTION OF CURRICULUM

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is one of the four programmes offered by the international Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for students aged 3-12. It aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to creat a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. We encourage students across the world to become active, compassion and lifelong learners.

We educate the whole child, taking care to cater for different learner types and speeds. Students’ learning flows naturally through our teaching, inquiry-based approach. Our courses are concept-driven and interdisciplinary. Students develop an understanding of important concepts, acquire essential skills and knowledge, develop particular attitudes and learn to take socially responsible action. The inquiry plan is combined with the learning scope and sequence of each subject to form a coherent curriculum. Our programme of inquiry is defined by the six interdisciplinary themes(Foundation has four of them), which are:

- Who we are

- Where we are in space and time

- How we express ourselves

- How the world works

- How we organize ourselves

- Sharing the planet
