INTRODUCTION
FROM HEAD OF HOUSE
CBS School is an international school that adheres to and practices the concept of holistic education. Since its establishment, it has adopted the British House System. This system aims to create a vertical community, break down the boundaries of classes and grades, and promote in-depth communication and cooperation between teachers and students.
CBS house system is not only an educational organization formalism, but also a spiritual carrier. At CBS, students and staff will be randomly assigned to one of four different houses -Asian dragons, European Stallions, American Tigers, and African Cobras. Each house carries its own unique spirit essence and symbolic meaning, becoming an important source of identity and belonging for students.
Every Friday is House Day, a special day for CBS House. On this day, all the students and staff need to wear House colors and participate in a series of colorful activities. These activities not only enhance the cohesion and house spirit, but also promote the communication and cooperation between different houses.
In order to stimulate the collective sense of honor of students and staff and enhance the cohesion of the house, CBS has also set up a house point system. During each academic year, students and staff can gain points for their own house participating in house day activities, school featured activities and various competitions. At the end of each academic year, the house champion will be announced, and the school will award certificates to the students and staff who have contributed the most house points.
Through the house system, CBS has successfully created a vibrant and harmonious campus environment. In this environment, students can not only receive a comprehensive education, but also broaden the horizons and enhance cross-cultural communication skills with different backgrounds and cultures, laying a solid foundation for future development.
Being part of a House we aim for students to:
Feel part of a ‘House Family’ within the wider school community
Feel supported by both their peers and teachers alike
Take part in healthy competition, where participation is valued as much as ‘winning’
Encourage students to experience other cultures and be more aware of global differences
Feel supported by the staff of each House, as well as, Homeroom and subject staff
Reward students as part of the House points
