From February 26th to 27th, Ms Wolly Wang, IB authorized training officer, IB gave the workshop "Making the PYP Happen: Implementing Agency'' to CBS teachers. The teachers gained a deeper understanding of PYP teaching in these two wonderful days.

DAY1 Collaborative and joyful learning

At the beginning of the workshop, the teachers started the day by making "Essential Agreements". The training officer carried out discussions on topics such as "PYP introduction", "transdisciplinary learning", "international mindedness" and "concept-driven learning". Teachers not only gained a deeper understanding of PYP, but also were be able to distinguish concepts from facts. During the training, teachers gained many ideas for interesting activities to promote student participation.

DAY2 Learning deeply for the adventure

On the second day, the teachers' enthusiasm for learning continued. After reflecting on the day before, the trainees inquired more about "approaches to learning", "the inquiry process", and "student agency". Through reading and discussing documents, teachers gained a better understanding of these parts. Through some collaborative activities, the teachers thoroughly understood how an inquiry class should be conducted. Finally, the characteristics and the importance of collaboration were studied through watching some interesting videos.

The teachers have gained a lot from this workshop, and they are also full of expectations of learning and teaching. Inquiry is a long journey, and only by becoming a life-long learner can we constantly improve ourselves.
