What can we do about the waste resources in our daily life? Can we brainstorm and liberate our hands to make use of them and build science projects based on our learning of STEAM and other science subjects? During 21st to 25th of February, monthly genius corner program opened again, this time, our theme was about domino regarding how to make domino cards and how to use ice cream sticks to join in competition and design domino.

On the first four days, each grade student went to the genius corner to practice. We also provided some books and manual regarding domino to help them understand better and prepare for the final competition. 

On the final competition day, more than twenty students from grade 6,7,8 and 9 participated and competed, Julie from Grade 8 won the first prize with 20 points in total (10 domino cards in a row). Sophia from grade 9 and penny from grade 8 also completed the domino cards.

As a bonus project, we provided ice cream sticks to make domino as well. Some boys from Grade 8 tried and successfully completed it.

Through the whole domino project, we learned how to use different materials to conduct domino project and also how to link them together. We used online videos and versatile resources to learn and imitate and gain a lot happiness and sense of achieving from it. The whole project introduced the concept of gravity and center of mass. Furthermore, it reminds of our students that we can use dumped resources such as waste paper and ice cream sticks to conduct interesting science projects and experiments.
