From May 21 to 22, IB authorization visiting team —— Mr. Peter McComb and Mr. Kanghua Li conducted a two-day IBDP authorization visit for Changwai Bilingual School. During the special period affected by the epidemic, in order to ensure the safety and health of all members of the IB community, the International Baccalaureate Organization changed the form to virtual visit for the first time.

During the two days, the visiting team conducted a comprehensive evaluation on the implementation of IBDP at CBS. They reviewed the materials in strict accordance with the standards and practices of IBDP, and held talks with Ms. Cao Hui, chairman of the school board and principal of CBS, Ms. Judy Wan, executive principal, the pedagogical leadership members, the programme coordinator, all the teachers, student representatives and representatives of parents, so thoroughly understood the progress of IBDP at CBS. At the end of the visit, the visiting team spoke highly of the development of IBDP at school and highly praised the Grade 10 and MYP students who are going toenter IBDP, and were impressed by the hardware and software preparation from the videos of the school and IBDP facilities that were shot in advance due to the virtual visit.

According to the authorization process and standards of IB world school officially issued by IBO, a school must pass very strict evaluation of IBO, and only when it fully conforms to the standards in school mission, educational philosophy, organizational structure, qualified teachers, teaching skills, school facilities and curriculum system can it be authorized. From submitting application to IBO, becoming interested school, to becoming candidate school, from orderly preparation and practice, receiving consultation visit, to authorization visit during these two days, every member of Changwai Bilingual School, from the board to the "IB learner community", is committed to supporting and promoting the implementation and development of the IBDP.

The visiting team gave us a lot of guidance with their professional knowledge and rich experience, and put forward pertinent suggestions for the continuous improvement of the implementation quality of the IBDP. We are looking forward to getting the official authorization of the IBDP and becoming a member of IB World School in the near future!
