Congratulations to Diana, Wendy, Kitty and Jason from MYP department in Changwai Bilingual School, who achieved the Gold Prize and Best Popularity Prize in 2020 ‘You Be the Chemist’ China Finals! 

It is reported that YBTC, supported by Chemical Educational Foundation in United States and Dow Company, has a large scale of difficulty, covers a wide range of fields and is extremely challenging, few students can get high scores.

YBTC（You Be The Chemist）is aimed at students who have not systematically studied chemistry from the fifth grade of primary school to the second grade of junior high school (grades 5 to 8). Therefore, YBTC's mission is to enlighten and inspire students' interest and confidence in chemistry learning and scientific exploration, and to inspire them to become future scientists. Every year, more than 60,000 students from 41 states in the United States participate in YBTC. YBTC has become one of the largest youth science activities in the United States. It is also a scientific activity that most American science students love to participate in in their lower grades.

After receiving the competition notice, Mr. Jackie (instructor) did a great deal of literature review and consulted a large number of materials to provide students with greatest help and support in preparing for the competition. Students and Mr. Jackie used their lunch break and breaks between lessons to study and discuss together to prepare for the event. Obtaining such a good result is the best award for our school, teachers and students. We hope that students will devote persistent efforts and achieve more glories for CBS.
