2021.05.20

Recently, representatives of MYP students in CBS participated in Global Future Space Scholars Meet (GFFSM), and won a great deal of team awards. This event coincided with the successful launch of a scientific exploration mission by the Chinese ‘Tianwen-1’ mission ‘Zhurong’ Mars rover, which marked a new chapter in China's aerospace and deep space exploration.

Global Future space scholars meet (GFSSM) is a space industry model activity for young people around the world, jointly sponsored by China space foundation, American space foundation, National Space Academy of England and ITCCC (youth international competition and Exchange Center).

Students need to complete the upgrading and transformation of Mars base, energy system scheme, solar energy heat collection device, research report, creative video and on-site challenge. In the process of challenge, the students have gained many abilities as well as rewards as the following.

Austin

Angel:

Humans going to Mars is one of the most famous and controversial topics these days. To me, it seems like most of the humans (including me) want to live on Mars some day in their life. It is like a science fiction idea come true. This competition gave me a very rough idea of what it could be like for humans to live on Mars. And it has helped me a lot to improve in many areas such as leadership, teamwork and many more. And, I now understand the real meaning and importance behind the saying, “If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.” Also, I think participating in and learning from such a competition is more important than getting the best award because it gives us valuable experience and new skills. I always like to read books about how successful entrepreneurs make and launch great products and companies; I would like to do something like that in the future.  And this competition seemed similar to what I read in the books. So, I think this helped me a lot to understand what it can be like to establish yourself in this world. I now have more skill and experience than before and I think I can do way better next time.
